Autosport International, said to be Europe’s largest dedicated motorsport trade show, will play host to a number of the world’s top manufacturers, showcasing technology that will shape the 2014 season.

Taking place at Birmingham’s NEC on 9-12th January, the show will feature a range of innovations.

Revolutionary Technologies United’s Group, for example, will showcase its latest thermodynamic process, a Pseudo Adiabatic system, utilising lower combustion temperatures to significantly increase efficiency, in a new 1.6 litre, four cylinder engine ready for application in automotive and motorsport projects.

OPEN MIND Technologies’ latest CAD/CAM software launch new hyperMILL 2013 and hyperCAD-S programmes will also be on show. The latest version of the popular software, hyperMILL 2013 offers even more efficient usage of modern NC machines and cutting tools, reduces programming time and extends tool life.

AP Racing, meanwhile, will feature the latest race-proven Radi-CAL line-up of brake calipers. Joining almost 70 variants in use across all forms of motorsport, the additions to the Radi-CAL range offer a significant reduction in mass to conventional designs, along with improved efficiency.

Autosport International also features a number of exhibitors that are driving technology transfer between engineering sectors. Take, for example, EEC Performance Systems, experts in the industrial weighting sector. This company will be launching a new f-POD Intelligent Race Fuel Bowser, following testing during the 2013 season. With a patented system to weigh fuel accurately at any circuit, the f-POD avoids the need for recalibration. This technology originates from the food manufacturing sector.

The show will also play host to a number of new car launches such as the Zenos E10 and SinR1, both of which have been developed with significant involvement from manufacturers in the industry. Also amongst the 600 exhibitors for 2014 will be Wirth Research, Quaife Engineering, ATL Fuel Cells, Birchills Automotive, EBC Brakes and Omex Technology.

The 2013 event saw over 28,000 motorsport professionals from 60 countries viewing products from more than 600 leading manufacturers, generating £1.07 billion worth of new business within the motorsport and performance engineering industries.
