This F1 season, SKF has announced that it is equipping the majority of the F1 cars with wheel bearings.
In addition to drawing on its five technology platforms (Bearings and units, Seals, Mechatronics, Services, and Lubrication Systems) SKF also taps into the knowledge gained from maintaining its long running technical partnership in Formula One with Scuderia Ferrari.
The Formula One World Championship serves as an important test bed for SKF in order to transfer the developed technology into offers for the general automotive industry as well as to other industry applications.
The official technical partnership with Scuderia Ferrari includes supply of bearings for wheel ends, suspension, transmission, gear applications and KERS, the Kinetic Energy Recovery System, as well as sealing solutions and engineering services.
