With more and more people becoming conscious about the health as well as environmental benefits of cycling, there has been a real spike in the demand of specialised and high performance bicycles. Today the passionate and serious bicycle riders not only desire for a high performance bike for their daily needs, but also want to add a personal touch to their ride.

Enigma Bicycle Works, a satisfied customer of John Guest’s compressed air system, has been in the market for the last 10 years. They cater to every demand of the serious and passionate bike riders who want to take their cycling dream to a next level. The British bicycle manufacturer that uses Speedfit Technology is globally known for producing handmade road bikes in titanium, steel and stainless steel. Manufacturing custom made bikes is what really distinguishes Enigma from other bike manufacturers, an option that enables the riders to accomplish their ambitious riding goals in their own style.

How Speedfit Technology helps Enigma reach the top gears

Most of the bikes manufactured in-house by Enigma are either made of steel or that elusive material – titanium. This offers a sublime riding experience that only a few other materials can match up with.  For the bike manufacturer superior product quality and precision in design and manufacturing is the key to success. What always keeps attracting more and more bike riders to Enigma is the bespoke finishing and personalisation they offer for all of their bike models.

Greg Stevens, Technical Manager at Enigma Bicycle Works says, “John Guest’s compressed air system effectively helps us in offering our customers the option to both surface finish and paint their bike to reflect their style, whether it is an off the peg frame or UK made. The option of customising bikes to the rider’s taste is a service that not many high performance bike manufacturers offer. Most manufacturers build their bikes on a production line but our handmade bikes offer a superior finish when compared to a mass produced bike, thanks to Speedfit Technology.’

For bringing that flawless and seamless finish to every single bike, the manufacturer extensively uses John Guest powered push-fit compressed air system. The compressed air guns are used to clean the bikes several times at various stages of the manufacturing process, alongside supplying air to the bead blast cabinet, allowing the manufacturer to both clean and surface finish the frames. Compressed air is also critically involved in spray-painting the bikes to rider’s colours of choice.

Enigma’s workshop has about 6 to 7 JG Speedfit compressed air circuits, which are used to build several elements of a bike. Dave Rollison, Spray Painter at Enigma Bicycle Works commented “John Guest powered compressed air system has made our spray painting process very efficient. The air pressure remains consistent throughout and desirable pressure can easily be achieved, as there aren’t any pressure fluctuations due to unwanted leaks in the circuit, which is instrumental in getting a smooth layer of paint. A smooth and consistent layer of paint not only gives a good finish to the bike but also plays an important role in maintaining the optimum weight. John Guest’s compressed air system has also helped us considerably reduced our electricity bills because there are no leaks in the pipeline, making us commercially more viable.”

Benefits of John Guest powered compressed air lines include:

  • Desired air pressure throughout the circuit
  • Consistent air pressure, delivering effective results
  • No leaks, hence no loss of compressed air
  • Easy & quick installation, for reduction of downtime
  • Reliable connections, avoiding frequent service calls
