When time is of the essence, an event which includes three co-located exhibitions and a comprehensive seminar programme will offer many benefits to visitors. So, this September, the NEC Birmingham will be the focus for The Machine Building Show, Micro | Nano | Mems, and Sensors & Instrumentation
This September, three exhibitions will be co-locating at Birmingham’s National Exhibition Centre (NEC). This will not only give visitors a chance to see new products, technologies and demonstrations, but they will be able to listen to a range of knowledgeable speakers during the comprehensive seminar programme taking place at each of the exhibitions. The events that will be taking place on 25-26th September are: The Machine Building show; Micro | Nano | Mems; and Sensors & Instrumentation.
Solutions for machine builders
The Machine Building Show is a new exhibition organised by Datateam Business Media in partnership with Trident Exhibitions, and will feature a broad range of products, including:
• Motors, drives systems, power transmission and energy management solutions
• Sensors, control equipment, software, networking technology
• PLCs, HMIs, displays
• Enclosures, cabinets
• Linear motion solutions
• Machine safety components
• Electrical and mechanical components
Companies booked to exhibit include igus, Mac Solutions, Metalite Engineering and Machine Building Systems.
The exhibition will also include a conference and seminar programme, with one session being held by GAMBICA, the Association for Instrumentation, Control, Automation & Laboratory Technology.

Micro manufacturing
Running alongside the Machine Building Show is Micro | Nano | Mems, described as a definitive showcase for micro, precision, mems and nano solutions.
Technologies on show this year will include precision diamond machining; micro milling; grinding machines; micro injection moulding; laser micro machining; photo etching; metrology and test equipment; micro-fluidics fabrication; and assembly equipment.

Micro | Nano | Mems will also feature an extensive conference and seminar programme, which will explore the impact, developments and applications in a range of micro manufacturing technologies. Confirmed speakers include Professor Yi Qin of Strathclyde University, who will discuss micro-forming technology; Dr Russell Torah of the University of Southampton, who will speak about micro fabrication production
technology for mems on new, emerging smart textiles; and Nadeem Rizvi from Laser Micromachining, who plans to share his expertise on the practicalities of micromachining with lasers.

Sensing solutions
Sensors & Instrumentation for test measurement & control has evolved from the Sensing Technology and Sensors & Systems shows, both of which were introduced to provide dedicated sensing solutions for visitors, filling a much-needed gap in the UK market.
Visitors to this year’s event can expect to see the latest in instrumentation solutions, with products including sensors and sensing systems; calibration and condition monitoring solutions; control systems; data acquisition; displays; flow and level technology; gas detection equipment; thermal imagers, plus much more.
Seminars have always been an important aspect of the sensors shows, and speakers are already lining up to take part. Currently, papers are being submitted by National Instruments, Kistler Instruments, NPL, The Profibus Group and Techni Measure. In particular, Andy Mangell,
managing director of Bronkhorst, will be discussing the manufacturer’s new ultra flow coriolis meter. Keep an eye on the website for the latest seminar information and other news.
