A powerful and robust, yet simple to set-up MULTI-CODE READER with an industrial compatible die-cast housing, is the latest addition to the ifm electronic range of identification systems. This new code reader provides reliable detection of 1D and 2D codes even under challenging conditions of changing extraneous light or shiny surfaces. Several different codes in one or more images can be evaluated in just a few milliseconds.
Simple identification applications with one code per image can be set-up quickly using one button teaching and configured and changed using a smartphone app (iOS, Android) helping to save time and money.
For more complex identification tasks, the multi-code reader can be configured using ifm’s award-winning Vision Assistant software. For example, the auto-find function detects several different codes in one image enabling users to easily assign these codes in the vision assistant software.
Thanks to different logic functions, the sensor can be programmed for sequential control, eliminating the need for more expensive evaluation, while the extensive visualisation of all settings provides users with an optimum overview.
The reader also has an exchangeable memory device, which can be used to save or load complete configurations of the multi-code reader. This simplifies device replacement and the set-up of several units for the same application. The integral polarisation filter combined with optimal illumination, ensures reliability in detecting codes even in poor light conditions or on shiny, metallic surfaces.
