Morgan Advanced Materials is opening a dedicated cell to manufacture products for non-invasive imaging and therapy applications. Situated at the company’s facility in Ruabon, North Wales, the new cell has been created to support Morgan’s focus on products for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), X-Ray imaging and radiotherapy.

The company’s range includes non-magnetic, high-permittivity materials with very low electrical loss which are not affected by temperature change. This makes them suited to filters, attenuators or capacitors for use in the high magnetic fields generated by MRI systems. Morgan also produces higher permittivity materials suitable for high- voltage components used in X-Ray imaging and therapy applications.

Paul Turnbull, business development manager for Morgan Advanced Materials, said: “Morgan has manufactured components to support key applications in the medical market for many years, and the creation of this new facility confirms our commitment to this important market.”
