Developed to suit the demands of the food and beverage industry – such as operating temperature and FDA-conformity – the lubrication-free igus knife edge roller bearings are said to offer excellent performance in conveyor systems.
The bearings are manufactured in iglidur plastic materials. The iglidur P210 material has low humidity consumption as well as good wear resistance and a high service life. The FDA conforming iglidur A180 suits applications with low to moderate loads in a humid environment and temperatures up to 90°C, while A350 is for medium to high load applications in temperatures up to 180°C.
The thin knife edge rollers allow narrow deflection radii for optimal use of available space and a smooth delivery of goods that are especially difficult to handle. In addition, as the knife edges roll they have a lower required driving power, which enables manufacturers to make energy cost savings.
