Mouser Electronics is pleased to announce that it will partner with Jay Penske’s Dragon Racing Formula E Team in the second season of the FIA Formula E all-electric car racing series that debuts Saturday October 24 in China.

The Mouser-backed Dragon Racing team boasts some considerable talent, including Loic Duval, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2013, and European Formula Master Champion Jerome D’Ambrosio. As the accomplished drivers speed toward victory, the Numbers 6 and 7 cars will sport prominent Mouser branding on the race cars and team equipment, along with branding from Mouser’s valued supplier partner, Molex.

Formula E is a new global racing series from Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body for world motor sports. Formula E features cars powered exclusively by electric energy and represents a vision for the future of the motor sports industry over the coming decades, serving as a framework for research and development around the electric vehicle, accelerating general interest in these cars and promoting sustainability.

“Formula E is on the cutting edge of auto racing technology,” said Todd McAtee, Vice President of Americas, Business Development for Mouser Electronics. “We are thrilled to partner with Dragon Racing and support this high-tech sport that is paving the way for future automotive technologies. High-tech auto racing provides the perfect platform to raise awareness for Mouser and our industry-leading partner, Molex.”

“We are proud to have Mouser as our partner for Season 2,” said Jay Penske, Dragon Racing’s Founder and Owner. “In the same way our technical team works with the drivers to win on the race track, Mouser works with its manufacturer partners to provide the newest products and technologies for its engineering customers, helping them race to market faster – Formula E is a perfect fit.”

In the inaugural Formula E season, Mouser partnered with its valued partners Molex and Vishay Intertechnology to sponsor the winning China Racing team. Mouser-backed driver Nelson Piquet Jr. captured the first-ever FIA Formula E championship in a thrilling final battle in the London ePrix on June 28th 2015.

The second season of the FIA Formula E Championship opens October 24th, 2015, in Beijing, followed by 10 more races on tracks around the world.
