Hot on the heels of receiving a hat-trick of accolades at the 2016 Powys Business Awards, Welshpool-based variable frequency driver manufacturer Invertek Drives, is delighted to have now been named as a finalist in the Welsh Business Awards.
The company is shortlisted in the “Success through overseas trade” category with winners due to be announced at a gala dinner to be hosted by TV presenter Gethin Jones on Thursday, February 23.
Now in their 15th year, the awards run by South Wales Chamber of Commerce and sponsored by the University of South Wales, are designed to recognise ‘the successes and achievements of Welsh businesses’ and Invertek was named ‘Welsh Company of the Year’ and also won the ‘Experienced International Business’ category at the 2014 event.
Sales and Marketing Director, Rhydian Welson, comments: “We are honoured to have our achievements recognised by being shortlisted for this award as we are very proud to be a ‘Welsh’ success story which we are building on with plans for a new factory to be built in Welshpool later this year.
“I am delighted we have already been recognised at the Powys Business Awards where we were not only named Overall Powys Business of the Year but also won in the ‘Technology and Innovation’ and ‘International Trade’ categories.

Invertek designs, manufactures and markets a range of compact, easy to use AC variable speed drives which are used to control electric motors in industrial automation applications around the world.
First established in 1998, Invertek now sells its products in to more than 80 countries and employs more than 170 people worldwide.
Winners of the Welsh Business Awards will be announced on 23rd February at the National Museum in Cardiff.
