Forgive me for stating the ‘obvious’ but in manufacturing today, the increasing exploration to search out new technologies, is transforming many industries.

At Fibox, we have been aware of this fact for many years. That’s why, over the last 45 years, we have proved that by investing well in technology and innovation, and understanding our customers’ needs; we have succeeded in dramatically positioning our consistent flow of advanced enclosure product offerings in the world market which has guaranteed our organisation’s future success.

But as well as investing in new technology to bring our range of products through to the end user; at the right time and at the right cost, the company has also committed to embrace innovation in our day-to-day practices, encouraging creativity throughout our workforce and engaging in information-sharing and exploration in close proximity to our markets, our Specialist Distributors and many of our direct customers.

It is through these close customer relationships and by thinking strategically about the future of our product development to create a competitive advantage, that has in effect, fuelled many innovative product developments and unearthed opportunities for the sustainable innovation of our enclosure products, as demanded by R & D teams across many industries.

One example of how this close collaboration has resulted in to development of a range of sensor options by PCME Ltd, a leading specialist in the development, manufacture and supply of continuous particulate emission monitors.

PCME works with many of the world’s leading industrial companies across a broad range of manufacturing industries providing solutions to improve environmental performance and process control

Looking for a company who could produce the rugged aluminium enclosures needed to provide the assured performance required to house and protect their critical operational sensors options in highly contaminated environments, they again chose Fibox above all others.

Fibox task was to develop two customised Euronord ALU high precision castings to PCME designs and to provide the finished aluminium enclosures machined, painted, silk screen printed and ready assembled to PCME’s exacting quality standards, ready to be installed in some of the most highly contaminated, critical applications imaginable.

So far PCME has supplied continuous particulate emission monitors and instruments to over 20,000 emission sources worldwide, – across a broad range of industries and has been working with Fibox for over 20 years to supply a rugged range of enclosures that are proven to be reliable even in the worst environmental conditions.

In another case, Fibox were approached by Haigh Engineering, the specialist mechanical engineering company, who for almost 60 years, have focused their efforts on sustainable, ethical, long term business growth through innovation and expertise in the niche provisions of waste treatment systems specifically to Healthcare institutions and Municipal Water companies.

The company was looking for a high specification enclosure system to house the control equipment for the Control Panels on two new Waste Water products.  After careful analysis of the market, they identified the ARCA range of injection moulded glass reinforced polycarbonate enclosures as the right solution, because it offered a wide choice of options to meet their varying needs and circumstances.

Haigh Engineering’s Site Electrical Supervisor, Paul Rollinson, explained, “With our worldwide reputation for reliability, performance and efficiency, the company and products we choose to partner with, is vital when providing our customers with the quality products they have come to expect”

“Due to the locations of some of these cabinets, and the vital contents they house; the cabinets have to be robust and easy to clean, yet water tight as well as having to be securely locked. In choosing the ARCA range, the versatility of the Glass Reinforced Polycarbonate material and the cost effectiveness was a major factor. Add to that the fact that the cabinets complied totally with water company specifications, their ease of assembly, and their aesthetic design coupled with the wide range available and the fact that they are much lighter and easier to work with than bespoke stainless steel enclosures, ticked all the boxes.”

ARCA ENCLOSURES – NOW WITH WINDOWS

As mentioned earlier, Fibox have flourished in the highly competitive enclosure market not only by their constant investment in technology and innovation, but by listening to the drivers within industry and building their products and structuring their services to ensure they are well placed to respond to changing client needs.

For instance the recent advanced changes to their ARCA range.

As Steve Gallon explained, “Enclosures that are designed to house electrical controls, instruments and fragile components, may also require unrestricted viewing of the gages or ready access to controls. That’s why after consulting with several OEM’s we recently added a range of high IP rated window and locking options to the highly demanded ARCA range; making them ideal for use in areas which may need regularly hosing down or are positioned in very wet, dusty or oily environments.”

Due to the locations of some of these cabinets, and the vital contents they house; the cabinets have to be robust and easy to clean, yet water tight as well as having to be securely locked.

In choosing the ARCA range, many specifiers have already recognised the versatility of the Glass Reinforced Polycarbonate material; with cost effectiveness a major factor. Add to that the fact that the cabinets comply totally with water and other utilities specifications, their ease of assembly, and their aesthetic design coupled with the wide range available, and the fact that they are much lighter and easier to work with than bespoke stainless steel enclosures, well it really is a no brainer!”

“Within our company; there is no doubt that enclosure manufacturing has entered a dynamic new phase. As a global supplier, a comprehensive understanding of the demands of the diverse industry segments we serve is deeply engrained in our very being”.

“That’s why by choosing to specify and work with Fibox, clients can rely on us not only to offer the very best enclosure product fit for their purpose, but also to explore innovative enclosure solutions to help them overcome manufacturing challenges by becoming an integral part of their value chain.”
