Lightweight technology specialist, inrekor, has developed a chassis which was featured on the new ECOmove QBEAK electric vehicle, recently inspected by their Royal Highnesses, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall.

The visit to the manufacturer’s development centre at VIA University College, Horsens, formed part of the royal tour of Denmark and focused on green energy technologies.

The electric vehicle manufacturer opted for the chassis after it was developed in just two weeks using the lightweight material widely used in automotive applications, sandwiched between aluminium.

Mogens Løkke, CEO and director of the company, commented: “HRH the Prince of Wales and the Duchess were very interested in the QBEAK concept and asked lots of questions about the design. It was a pleasure to explain the benefits of the car, such as the 30 per cent weight reduction offered by incorporating the lightweight inrekor chassis with ECOmove in-wheel technology, and how this prolongs the battery life and allows a longer driving range of 300km.”
