Mouser Electronics has announced an update to their Automotive Applications Site by featuring new sections devoted to Automotive Infotainment. In-vehicle entertainment technology is evolving rapidly, and the new Mouser Electronics site keeps Mouser visitors up-to-date on the latest news and developments in the expanding field of Automotive Applications. Mouser Electronics’ expanded Automotive Applications site now features two new automotive infotainment applications areas: Digital Radio technology and design, and Infotainment systems.

Automotive Digital Radio offers much better sound quality than traditional FM receivers while also being almost immune to noise and interference. Digital radios are also easier to use, and with advanced technologies like Radio Data System (RDS) passengers can view a readout displaying the stations being listened to and even the name and artist of the song playing.

Automotive infotainment systems integrate many of the features commonly found on handheld devices such as GPS navigation, high-resolution displays, and touch controls into automotive systems. This information, along with vehicle status information, can be displayed to the driver by dashboard display system, improving driver status information while increasing passenger safety.

At a glance, users get access to detailed block diagrams, explaining each of the automotive infotainment system’s operations. Clicking on a component within the block in the diagram pulls up a Mouser-stocked parts list needed to quickly build that piece of the system. Mouser Electronics’ Automotive Applications site also boasts technical articles, application notes, white papers, instructional videos, solution guides, and more.
