Parvalux is launching a competition to seek engineering talent across the country. The task is to abstract an innovative design that incorporates a Parvalux Electric Motor, with entrants encouraged to be innovative and environmentally friendly whilst being practical and commercial.

There are two categories in the competition – student and industry professional – with a prize of up to £1000. For industry, the prize fund will contribute to the research and development of the winning idea. For students, the prize fund will be put towards university tuition fees.

Technical director Dr. Martin Mathias will be judging the competition. He said: “We’re looking for a great idea. We’re not judging how sophisticated the drawings are, it’s all about the idea. If you’re a lucky winner, we will help to bring your idea into reality.”

Parvalux hopes that the competition will stimulate the design of innovative products whilst inspiring discussions between engineering students and lecturers as designs are drafted, revised and refined. If engineers have any technical queries there is always a member of staff on hand at Parvalux who will be fascinated to hear how their electric motors are being put to practical use.

All entries must be in by 31st December 2012 and can be entered online at parvalux.com/GBETS or via a postal entry.

Terms, conditions and guidelines can be found on the website.
