Following several years of sustained sales growth, Bunting (the designer and manufacturer of magnetic separators, metal detectors, magnets, magnetic assemblies and magnetising equipment) is expanding its manufacturing plant and offices at the Redditch site just outside Birmingham.

Since the global Bunting Group acquired Master Magnets in January 2017, manufacturing output at the Redditch plant has increased significantly.  By extending the existing manufacturing building, Bunting intends to increase the factory floor space by 50%.

“We design and manufacture large equipment for the mining, mineral processing and recycling industries,” explained Adrian Coleman, general manager of Bunting-Redditch.  “The demand for such magnetic separation technology continues to grow and we needed to rethink our manufacturing strategy. The increased manufacturing floor space will result in improved productivity with the aim of shortening production lead-times.”

The additional manufacturing area is ideal for the building of Metal Separation Modules for the recycling industry (incorporating Eddy Current Separators, Drum Magnets and Vibratory Feeders); large Electromagnetic Overband Magnets for mining applications; and high intensity magnetic separators, such as the Induced Roll Magnetic Separator, for mineral processing.

This latest investment in Bunting’s European laboratory facilities follows the creation of a Recycling Test Centre in February 2018.
