Compact photoelectric sensors with best performance from ifm electronic

Just launched are new versions of ifm’s latest O6 type photoelectric sensors in the standard small housing with 1” hole centres.

Initially released last year in stainless steel, the more cost-effective plastic-housed versions of this successful range have now been made available.

The diffuse reflection sensor features particularly reliable background interference suppression and a powerful performance. A potentiometer for range setting and a rotary switch for light-on/dark-on selection are intuitive and simple to operate.  The sensing range is independent of the characteristics and colour of the object to be detected.

Best optical performance: Even highly reflective backgrounds like stainless steel as well as moving machine parts have no influence on the background suppression. The clearly defined round light spot in the operating area ensures a consistent light distribution in the light cone. Scattered light around the light spot potentially interfering with other photoelectric sensors is avoided. This provides additional sensing reliability.

Flexible in use: For the compact unit (only 13 x 41 x 21 mm) ifm offers variants with PUR connection cable, M12 pigtail or robust M8 metal connector on the housing. The sensors are also available as through-beam and retro-reflective systems. Athough the optical performance is every bit as good as the stainless steel version, these new version are priced even more competitively.

ifm is committed to working closely with its customers to develop products which precisely match their needs, and the company provides expert, readily accessible technical support to help users maximise the benefits they gain from ifm products.
