Components Bureau part of the FORTEC Group based in Cambridgeshire are pleased to introduce the latest release of the HFC100-W from Autronic. This addition to the HFC range makes the series complete offering 50W, 100W, 150W and 200W.

The new DC/DC converter offers a wide input range of 14.4 to 154 VDC, with an efficiency up to 92%. Options include open frame HFC100-W / O and galvanised HFC100-W / G, both are chassis assembly.
The HFC100 operates at a temperature range of -40°C to 85°C and meets railway standards EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2. The railway-specific EMC requirements including the EMV06 of the DB are met without additional wiring using external components.
The galvanically isolated HFC100-W was developed according to temperature class TX and can be operated at 100W without any derating up to 70 ° C, at least 10 minutes up to 85 ° C. The simple installation of the Autronic converter requires only three small pads on the underside in addition to the natural convection to dissipate the resulting heat, expensive heat sinks are superfluous. The selection of the printed circuit card material is based on fire protection tests that have already been carried out in accordance with EN 45545-2.
Further features are the active inrush current limitation (10A), active polarity reversal protection, against overvoltage, overtemperature and overcurrent. The integrated hold up time of 10 ms is a matter of course, as is the possibility to trim the output voltage (± 10%) or to operate up to three converters in parallel.
In addition to the open frame solution with 12V or 24V output voltage, two other versions are available, IP20 housing or DIN rail mounting. Further output voltages are possible on request.
